Alphabetize the Spices, Once

Steps

1. 01Empty all spices onto the counter.
2. 02Wipe the rack or shelf.
3. 03Discard any older than 18 months — they smell faded, taste like dust.
4. 04Decant the ones in awkward bags into matching small jars if you have them. Otherwise, leave the original jars.
5. 05Label the lid (a sticker, marker on tape) — labels on the side make you tilt the jar to read.
6. 06Place alphabetically. Allspice to za'atar.
