Clean and Keep the Wooden Cutting Board
Never the dishwasher. Two minutes a day, ten minutes a month, and the board outlasts the kitchen.

Steps
- 01After use: scrape off bits with a bench scraper or knife edge.
- 02Wash with warm soapy water and a brush. Rinse, stand on edge to air dry.
- 03Once a week, sprinkle with coarse salt and rub with half a lemon. Rinse. The salt scrubs, the lemon kills bacteria.
- 04Once a month, when the board looks dry or faded, oil it. Rub a tablespoon of food-safe mineral oil all over with a soft cloth.
- 05Let sit overnight. Wipe excess in the morning. Board looks new for another month.
