Three Herbs to Start on the Windowsill

Steps

1. 01Basil — the kitchen herb. South-facing window. Pinch the top leaves to make it bushy, never the bottom.
2. 02Thyme — almost impossible to kill. Likes a small terracotta pot, not plastic.
3. 03Mint — start in a separate pot or it will eat the others. Cut often. The cuts are the point.
4. 04Water when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch. Most kitchen herbs die from over-watering, not under.
