The Watering Rule for Summer
Most plant deaths in July are from kindness — too much water at the wrong time.
Steps
- 01Water before the sun reaches the leaves — 6 to 8 a.m., or after sunset.
- 02Water the soil, not the plant. Wet leaves invite mildew in heat.
- 03When in doubt, push your finger 2cm into the soil. If dry, water. If damp, wait a day.
- 04Big plants need a deep soak twice a week, not a small sprinkle every day.
