One Tomato Plant in a Big Pot

Steps

1. 01Buy one cherry tomato seedling, the bigger the start the better.
2. 02Pot: at least 30cm wide, deeper than wide. Drainage holes essential.
3. 03Soil: regular potting soil mixed with compost.
4. 04Stake at planting — push a 1.5m bamboo cane into the pot before adding the plant.
5. 05Water deeply once a week, never daily. Daily water creates lazy roots.
6. 06Pinch suckers — the small shoots in the V between branches — once a week.
7. 07First tomato by mid-July if you started in May.
