A Window Box of Pansies
The first plant of the year that survives a frost. Pansies hold on through April surprises.

Steps
- 01Buy a small pack of pansies — six or twelve plants, mixed colors or one shade.
- 02Fill window box with a mix of regular potting soil and a handful of compost.
- 03Plant 5cm apart, soil up to the leaf line.
- 04Water until it drains from the bottom. Then leave alone for two days.
- 05Deadhead the spent blooms — pinch them off with your fingers — and the plant keeps blooming for six weeks.
