Move Houseplants for the Darker Months

The plant that thrived in July light will sulk in November in the same spot. The window has changed; the plant should too.

Steps

  1. 01Rotate plants 6cm closer to the window in October. The light angle is lower; this catches more.
  2. 02Move the heat-sensitive ones (ferns, peace lilies) away from radiators that are about to come on.
  3. 03Reduce watering by half. The plant is slowing down; the soil dries slower.
  4. 04Wipe the leaves with a damp cloth — dust blocks light, and winter has none to spare.
