How to Host Four People in a 35-Square-Meter Studio
The studio fits four if you plan the layout, not just the food. The food is the easy part.

Steps
- 01Day-of, 4 hours before: push the bed flush against the wall. The bed becomes seating.
- 02Drape the bed in a clean throw or sheet — visually neutralizes it as 'a couch'.
- 03Coffee table becomes the dining table. Floor cushions for the missing chairs.
- 04The kitchen counter is the bar — one pitcher, one bucket of ice, four glasses.
- 05Light all the candles ten minutes before. Turn off the overhead.
- 06Dish out at the counter, hand to people. No table service. Casual is the only option in a studio, and it's lovely.
Notes
- — Menu kept low-prep: a big pot of pasta with brown butter and sage, a bitter green salad, store-bought tiramisu in small glasses.
- — Drinks: one cocktail prepped in a pitcher (negroni, sangria, anything that pours).
- — Vibe: lit candles, low lighting, music low enough to talk over.
