Make the Balcony into a Room

Steps

1. 01An outdoor rug — sized to the chair group, not the whole balcony. The eye stops at the rug edge and decides this is a place.
2. 02A small side table that holds exactly one drink and one book. Bigger is worse.
3. 03Add a single olive plant in a terracotta pot, or a tomato. Something edible or ancient.
4. 04Take everything else off. The bicycle, the drying rack, the box of recycling — find them another home for the summer.
