A Pumpkin as a Flower Vase
Use the small pumpkins from the market not for carving but for one striking arrangement on the table.
Steps
- 01Choose a medium pumpkin — 18 to 22cm tall, firm, smooth top.
- 02Cut a circle 8cm wide in the top, like a jack-o-lantern lid. Save the lid.
- 03Scoop out the seeds and pulp.
- 04Place a small jar of water inside the cavity. The jar protects the pumpkin from rotting.
- 05Arrange flowers in the jar — eucalyptus, dahlias, dried wheat. The pumpkin frames them.
- 06Lasts 7 to 10 days on a cool table.
